Catch the 'acting bug' in tropical rainforest playhouse.
This is the last chance for a long time to learn the first principles of acting from a doyen of the Australian theatre in the magnificent environment of Karnak Playhouse.
Diane Cilento built Karnak Playhouse on her property north of Mossman in Far North Queensland twenty years ago. Adjacent to a peaceful lake and surrounded by a tropical orchard, this open-air theatre has thrilled audiences for many years with productions such as Wilma Reading, Rare Fruit, From Caruso to Bocelli, Lorna Luft and Shakespeare in Love, to name a few.

Diane's status as a National Treasure recognises her enormous contribution to theatre over the years. At an age when many of us are 'taking it easy' Diane is currently hard at work learning her lines in preparation for a world tour of a one woman play called WOMAN BEFORE A GLASS.
So those students who are fortunate enough to be accepted into this rare workshop will have an opportunity unlikely to be repeated for some time.
During this workshop you will
1. Learn how to breathe, speak, listen and observe 2. Build improvisation skills - mood 3. Act out situations
Students will build confidence in speaking in public and will be inspired to become involved in amateur productions.
Your interaction with such an experienced and major Australian talent and entrepreneurial spirit will leave you enriched. Hopefully, the "acting bug" will be incubating, ready to grow to a passion from which you may never recover! LUNCH is available at the Karnak Cafe, part of the theatre complex. Choose from a delicious tropical menu prepared in Karnak's kitchen from produce grown on the property.
LOCATION of this very special workshop is at Karnak Playhouse in the Whyanbeel Valley, north of Port Douglas.
COST per person is $A95. Please see attached form for payment options.
