Samba and belly dancing - the mix of rhythms through your body

This samba and belly dancing workshop is an interesting mix of rhythms that lead you to learn relaxing and enlivening movements that can help tone the body and improve confidence.

Maggie Oliveira, your experienced teacher, says that this particular mix of Egyptian and Brazilian music and movement boosts self-esteem in a gentle yet powerful way .

Fun, laughter and music encourage a positive feeling of sensual expression and freedom in your body. This sounds like the perfect "pick-me-up" and a skill that you can enjoy for years to come.

All age groups are welcome - from beginners to those with a little more experience.

Belly dancing in Port Douglas

During the workshop students will have the opportunity to learn these Egyptian and Brazilian cultural expressions through an energetic form of aerobic dance.

Working out to fast-paced, repetitious music with spicy tabla rhythms will make the exercises more fun and encourage students to feel closer to the culture as they feel the rhythms flow through their bodies.

Repetitious swaying and circular and flowing movements will be used to help participants to learn a routine mixing both rhythms.

Accessories such as veils will be used to assist with dancers' absorption and immersion in rhythms and movements.

During the workshop students will have the opportunity to watch videos about Carnival and Samba to help them better understand the dances and as inspiration.

Relaxing exercises will be included to improve confidence and calm the minds of students to make sure they keep the focus that is required to learn the movements.

Fun and laughter are part of this workshop - enjoyment guaranteed! Students will learn to feel comfortable with themselves and motivated to explore their bodies to learn, not only steps and movements but more about themselves.
