Friends of the Festival
Friends of the Festival volunteers have been identified as being vital to the success of Go Troppo Arts Festival. So it is encouraging to see a strong band of volunteers joining in the fun and helping to plan the smooth running of the festival in October. See social photos

THE WEEKS BEFORE The weeks from Thursday September 11 to Friday October 2 are critical to the success of the festival. This is the period when Friends of the Festival are asked to promote our very own home-grown arts celebration by forwarding emails, telling their friends - and even strangers - about the wonderful experience that awaits them during the ten days of the festival 2 - 11 October 2009. This multi-arts festival is quite an ambitious project to undertake but your voluntary
committee and artists
have gathered much expertise and energy from the community to make it a success and YOUR help is essential to that. Many people have offered assistance so now we are calling in those offers!
EVENT CALENDARS AND INVITATIONS NEED TO BE DISTRIBUTED amongst friends, retailers and resorts - teams of two are good for this. (The calendar will also be inserted in the Gazette newspaper on September 24.) FOLDING OF CATALOGUE COVERS Easy enough - in fact, quite a relaxing occupation. EXHIBITIONS SET UP DURING THIS WEEK September 28 - October 1 Curators will be glad of assistance. Perhaps it may be for something as simple as going to the shops for a forgotten item - or arranging a kettle and tea/coffee for breaks for them and their workers...holding a screw-driver....typing of catalogues or notices, making of numbers etc?
THE OPENING NIGHT HAS ARRIVED - FRIDAY OCTOBER 2 Friends of the Festival are in charge of running this important evening and your help will be appreciated with reception, sales and general hostessing/socialising duties as well as keeping the space tidy - collecting used glasses etc...and having a good time!
