Tropical Expressions in Oil Paint
Wim de Vos paints the most beautiful, soft, dreamy landscapes using oil paint. He prepares his canvases, which are often linen, and chooses a limited palette of colours before sketching his subject and deciding on the composition of each painting. In this workshop you will learn to paint directly onto the canvas using large brushes and a variety of brush-strokes and mark-making to produce a tropical landscape on canvas or paper.

This painting of the southern end of Four Mile Beach was painted by Wim on one of his many trips to Port Douglas.
In this workshop students will learn basics such as -
1. The use of large brushes and oil paint on canvas or paper. 2. Composition and design principles. 2. Colour mixing and working with thick paint. 3. Glazing techniques and clean-up methods.
