Enjoy special art workshops during Go Troppo Arts Festival 2009.
These varied art workshops have been especially developed for Go Troppo Arts Festival 2009 - for you, of course!
TIMETABLE HERE
Participating tutors are all professional artists who have long teaching experience and enjoy interacting with students as they learn skills in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. Our aim is to offer you an experience that you could not have elsewhere. Part of that experience is the location of studios and work-spaces in rainforest, mountains and on the waterfront. Where else could you spend the day with the inventor and manufacturer of
artists' paints
at his home, enjoying his hospitality and finding out just what those paints and mediums can do for you, the experienced painter? The opportunity to attend a
life drawing class
in a rainforest creek and then develop your own painting myth from that scene is one which will be snapped up by those few who are the first to apply. Would you like to develop a
portrait in paint
or
life-sized portrait in clay
during one intensive day's directed activity? Throw dye at a
silk scarf
and take away treasured mementos of this unorthodox painting method? Perhaps catching the
acting bug
is a risk that you're willing to take as you engage with a world-renowned actor in her amazing theatre in the rainforest? Or is making a
dreamy watercolour
of rainforest landscapes or a
soft oil painting
of turquoise seas more to your liking? Have you tried making your own
artist's journal
or
sculptural book
from special papers and binding methods or investigated the addictive qualities of developing your own original prints using
vinyl
or
perspex
? Even beginners can make
glass jewellery
or a
glass paperweight
in this art glass workshop hide-away, supervised by world famous glass artists. If words are your means of expression, interact with nature in this
haiku writing
group in a private, walled garden courtyard. For a great form of aerobic work-out tune into Egyptian or Brazilian
dance rhythms
and learn more about yourself in the process. Then there's the
creative sculpture
workshop where all of your imaginative ideas can take physical form under the guidance of your skilled tutor. Please check out the
choice of workshops
then follow the link to the relevant page and register your interest.
Please note that FRIENDS OF THE FESTIVAL receive a discount of $5 off all workshop fees. Please quote your membership number. To join (only $10) please telephone 07 4099 1835 or 07 4099 3324.
